Together with visual artist Joëlle Tuerlinckx, B'Rock presents a new reading of John Cage's cult work 'Atlas Eclipticalis'.
For this work, Cage literally took the star chart of astronomer Antonín Becvár as a point of departure: on top of the maps, he put staves in which he, depending on the brightness of the star's light, drew smaller, bigger, lighter or heavier dots. The result, a score that looks like a starry sky, appeared to be a unique musical composition. Together with Joëlle Tuerlinckx B'Rock picks up the search for the fusion of the auditive and visuele aspects of these scores.
The world premiere is at deSingel on the 21st of October, followed by performances on the 22nd and 23rd of October.
