A Wanton Fling

The cover of the album A Wanton Fling.

Formed during the great surge of interest in traditional and Celtic music and song in the late 1960's, The Whistlebinkies quickly evolved into a leading force in their field. They led the revival in the use of the bellows-blown bagpipes in Scotland and were among the first to combine the three national instruments (fiddle, bagpipe and clarsach) in regular performance. The repertoire on A Wanton Fling is drawn from all periods of Scottish music and from all regions of the country. Featuring Peter Anderson (Scottish side-drum, bodhran, percussion); Annaliese Dagg (viola, fiddle); Stuart Eydmann (fiddle, concertina); Mark Hayward (fiddle); Eddie MacGuire (flute, piccolo, clarsach); Judith Peacock (clarsach, vocals); Rab Wallace (Lowland pipes, Scottish smallpipes); James MacMillan (vocals, whistle).
