The Festival includes performances from RNCM students in three chamber music concerts, which also feature new pieces by RNCM composition students. The RNCM New Ensemble is joined by The University of Manchester’s new music ensemble Vaganza and the Festival concludes with the BBC Philharmonic performing an evening of Goehr’s music, conducted by their new Composer/ Conductor and the RNCM’s new International Chair in Composition, H K Gruber. Festival concludes with the world première of TurmMusik, a new commission by the BBC for HK Gruber and The BBC Philharmonic, and which was recently awarded the Schott Music Work of the Week.
